We wear them for casual dress to even being dressed up when paired with a dressy shirt and shoes.

The phenomenon all started in 1872. Yep, over 140 years ago.It seems the clothing couldn't hold up to the rugged workmen in San Francisco, with their pockets constantly ripping open.

Jacob Davis found himself repairing the ripped clothing, until he came up with a solution. Copper rivets.Without enough money to file a patent himself, he turned to a man named Levi Strauss, who was a fabric supplier.

The riveted pockets were a big hit and history was made.
