A Bay Area television reporter and his cameraman narrowly avoided being hit by a car during a live shot on Tuesday morning.
Alex Savidge, a reporter for Oakland’s KTVU, was delivering an update on an overnight train derailment in Sunol, Calif., when a car involved in a traffic accident veered off the road and came speeding toward him and his cameraman, Chip Vaughan.
Savidge and Vaughan managed to dive out of the way as the car raced across the curb and came to a stop in the parking lot where they were standing.
